  • North retrospective
    • organization of thoughts in Confluence or drive
    • plus deltas
    • Rachel - hammer down logistics early on
      • add North section to "end of year hangups" page
      • airport shuttling communication
      • hotel organization - avoiding last minute bookings
        • figuring out who exactly is coming or not and setting a deadline for people to say they're coming
      • senior gifts
      • printing things out that we know we need and organizing in an easy to access, labled way
      • communication about travel to and from Olin & cleanup & packing
    • Lacie - find a way to minimize last minute spending at North
      • hard to keep track of and potential to go negative is higher
      • the only reason we didn't go under was because we used our own cards/ Venmo
      • Things that should be bought before hand: Printing documents/static event stuff, Home Depot runs (face shield, bag for push bar, hardware), other miscellaneous supplies (pop up tent, bug spray, lamp)
    • Aurora - improve communications between team members to make most of our time ; more streamlined processes
      • i.e trying to organize what should be worked on when to minimize repeating the same tasks over
      • would have been nice to get a Slack message or something to understand what the current car condition is and what happened at each inspection/event
      • make sure design reviews are well attended and run well throughout the year
    • Jon - the car not being done brought a lot of problems (spending, late night working, etc)
      • managing people in spaces was an issue since there were so many people milling about (mechanical especially)
      • Intentional scouting of other teams to learn new things
    • Peter - the car not being done and team's professional appearance
      • showing up to design late
        • do design documentation before competition
      • being prepared with paperwork and submitting things on time even throughout the school year
    • Adi -
      • investing in a wifi hotspot for a week at North
      • proposal for design reviews: kickoff meetings Aditya Sudhakar (if you could write down what you said)
        • entire parts of the subteam (both electrical and mechanical) get together and go super high level to detailed over the course of year in order to help keep people accountable
    • Anil - make sure tech sheets are read and everything is prepped before being in tech/at competition
      • also make a more structured way to bring people out to watch events and let people know to go watch
    • Corey - make sure we are prepared for the hard rules
      • flew through e-tech except for the two things that took an hour
      • be prepared for the worst
      • push through activation energy to send rules clarification
    • Dhara - most important part from formula North is the connections made with the people
      • need to have a good balance of social and technical aspects
      • won't be enjoyable if only focused on tech goals
      • having lots of people there who cared about the car and the team was important
    • Alex W - making people more aware of the tech sheets and having people referencing them throughout the year
      • posting e-tech sheet more publicly
      • be more tech-sheet focused throughout the year
      • hectic workflow, only had 2 hours of work but it took 2 days to do (because we didn't have a working car)
      • had a good technical and social time
    • Colin - encouraging our own team members to actively seek out knowledge of the different subteams. Members should be able to talk about the different parts of the car, not just what they worked on. This was a trend I noticed in a bunch of other teams.
